Crewman See Note 1

	Complete and pass closed book exam for one of these courses: BS&S, BS, S&S, SF, U.S. Power Squadron
	Perform/complete 58 tasks under supervision of qualified Coxswain within 2 years of starting tasks
	Participate in towing exercise

	8 hours on patrol
	Assist Coxswain with a Pre-Underway check-off
	Participate in man overboard exercise

Coxswain See Note 1

	Qualify as Crewman
	Perform/complete 69 tasks
	NAV Rules Exam closed book, until passed. Then open book every 5 years

	8 hours on patrol
	Complete a Pre-Underway check-off
	Rescue a person from the water

IT Instructor
Trainer See Note 1

	Comp. Part A (IQC)
	Open Book Exam
	Teach 2 classes under qualified Instructor

Teach 2 hours or assist for 4 hours or teach 1 hour and assist 2 hours

	Open Book Exam 90% to pass
	5 - VSC's with qualified VE

5 VSC's per calendar year

	2 VSC's with qualified VE

4 visits per calendar year
